About Us
I’m Stephen Gunson, a trial attorney with 20 years in the gritty courtrooms of L.A., but my toughest case hit at home when ADHD entered our lives. What began with our kids led to a revelation about me and my wife. Suddenly, our chaos made sense. We weren’t broken; we were Dragonborn. That journey inspired my book, Dragonborn: The Mythology of ADHD, a blend of personal stories, science, and ancient myth.
At Gene Threads, we celebrate all forms of neurodiversity, with a special focus on what is commonly referred to as Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We reject the notion of ADHD as a disorder, viewing it instead as a vibrant variation of the human brain, driven by novelty, creativity, and dynamic potential. In a world increasingly defined by rigidity and hyperorder, individuals with ADHD play a vital role, bringing innovation and adaptability to the forefront.
We proudly champion ADHDers and all neurodiverse individuals, fostering a community rooted in empowerment and self-acceptance.
